Aries: I Want It All- Arctic Monkeys

I Want It All” is the fifth track on Arctic Monkeys’s 2013 AlbumAM.” Widely regarded as their magnum opus, The entire album is rumored to be about one girl. Makes you wonder what she did to have a twelve-track hit album dedicated to her. Alex Turner still has powerful feelings for her despite whatever may have happened. I chose “I Want It All” over any of the latter tracks because I think the musical composition is more well-suited to the Aries vibe. It compliments the traits of Aries perfectly.

This track is intense, the music and lyrics drawn out and passionate. The rolling guitar riffs and snappy lyrics on the track match the inherent hardheadedness of the ram, known for their determination and stubbornness. Once they’ve set their fiery hearts on something or someone Aries finds it hard to let go easily. Their impulsiveness and lack of filter can hold them back sometimes, but overall Aries are passionate, fierce, and bold. As an Aries, I’ve been feeling this song lately, so I hope you guys like it.

Taurus: Splash Wave Repeat (Interlude) -Tory Lanez

The 17th and arguably the best track on “Alone At Prom (Deluxe),” “Splash. Wave. Repeat” is overall laid-back track, trippy and groovy with a killer baseline and some catchy lyrics. Taurus are at their best when they’re cool, collected and relaxed.

This song definitely provides this feeling along with a rush of confidence given by the sultry baseline. Taurus enjoys the serene and more simple things. At the same time, Taurus is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and reach out for what they want.

In the middle of the song a monologue from comedian Katt Williams catches the listener off guard at first — after a few listens you’ll find yourself getting hyped and taking his advice. Taurus is the bull: steadfast, loyal, laid back and confident. Taurus, no matter what your vibe is, this song definitely has something for you.

Gemini: Hot N Cold – Katy Perry

The seventh track and second single from her album “One of the Boys,” “Hot N Cold” is a song about a boy who is constantly changing his mind and going through mood swings and how this affects their relationship. The song is upbeat through and through and is peak pop production. Gemini is a very passionate sign that loves to spend time with their inner circle, constantly juggling a variety of passions, hobbies and sometimes even friend groups.

“Hot N Cold” is a fun song that will hype up just about anyone, even though the song speaks of relatable frustrations. Overall, this song veils a semi-serious problem behind a bubbly beat and some evocative lyrics. Like this song, Geminis are humorous, upbeat and sometimes frivolous, making the song a perfect match for Gemini.

Cancer: Heart Wants What it Wants- Selena Gomez

The phrase “the heart wants what it wants”  was first coined in a poem by Emily Dickinson: “The heart wants what it wants—or else it does not care.”

The mantra may strike a chord (no pun intended) with Cancer, a water sign that tends to hold on with all their heart. In her album “For You which contains all of her greatest hits, Selena Gomez chose this song to start the album strong. Although she never outright names him, this track is rumored to be an emotional explanation of Gomez’s relationship at the time with Justin Bieber and gives us reasons why she stayed as long as she did.

Cancers are intuitive, nurturing and sensitive, sometimes to a fault. They can be emotional and their feelings run deep like water. This leaves them vulnerable to mood swings but it also makes them fiercely loving and loyal. Cancer, your heart wants what it wants. We hope you like this selection.

Leo: Cheri Cheri Lady-Modern Talking

The first track on Modern Talking’s second studio album “Let’s Talk About Love,” “Cheri Cheri Lady” was an instant chart-topper in Germany, where the band originated. It was released as the album’s only single on September 2, 1985, and reached number one on the German Singles Chart. The song became the duo’s third consecutive number-one single in Germany. They were on fire just like Leos.

Leos are most commonly associated with the sun, one of the few things in the solar system that never goes into retrograde. They are also associated with the lion. Because of this, Leos are hailed for their level-headedness and natural leadership skills. Leo loves cultivating friendships and romances that are artistically and creatively inspired.

Like the sun itself, Leo loves to be at the center of everything. This love for attention can be a fault for Leo, as it can fade into self-centeredness.

Overall, Leos are playful, theatrical, and lighthearted. This is why I thought this song suited them perfectly — an upbeat dance track complements these features. “Cheri Cheri Lady” is bright and catchy — an oldie but a goodie. We hope you like this selection, Leo.

Virgo: “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)”– Billy Joel

A strong, memorable opening to Billy Joel’s classic 1977 album “The Stranger“, this song shares its title with a Broadway musical that contains Billy Joel’s numerous classic hits. If you listen to the song through you’ll hear a car starting at the end. The 1960s Corvette that was used belonged to the band’s bassist Doug Stegmeyer. The song is a portrayal of a cast of characters that Joel made up. In the song, they chase their dreams in pursuit of a better life.

While anyone can dream, Virgos are naturally big dreamers. What sets them apart is they have the gumption to back it up. Virgos are hardworking, analytical and modest. While they are always pursuing new heights they are usually quiet about it. While Virgo can be brash and sometimes controlling it all comes from a place of determination. For an earth sign, they have a fire in their belly. This song pairs perfectly with this mindset; not to mention it’s catchy and classic.

Literally everyone knows this song, even if they say they don’t. A confident two-step beat, catchy snares, bold drums and of course, a memorable riff make this song unforgettable just like you Virgo. We hope you like this pick.

Libra: Paparazzi-Lady Gaga

The third track on her 2008 debut album “The Fame,” “Paparazzi” is all about Lady Gaga’s newfound struggle to balance success and love. A controversial and classic hit, the music video was released in 2008 with a mixed reception — praise from some and upset from others. Shortly after, the video became critically acclaimed with two MTV Music Video Awards (Best Art Direction and Best Special Effects) in 2009 where she performed one of her most talked about performances to date.

Libra will often find themself relating to Lady Gaga’s struggle to balance out her life. The only inanimate object out of all the zodiacs is represented by the scales. As this representation suggests, Libras thrive in a state of perfect balance. Libras are often lovers of art and music — this connoisseurship stretches throughout most aspects of a Libra’s life. Libras often make excellent designers, decorators, art critics and stylists. They are constantly expressing themselves whether it be through their creativity or just being talkative. If Libra wants you to know something, you’ll know it. Because of their unabashed expressiveness, they match up with this Gaga classic seamlessly.

A snappy snare and hefty backing drums all complemented by a zany but loveable synth line make it a great listen for casual music enjoyers and aficionados alike — not to mention the heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics that everyone can relate to at least a little. Libra, we know you love balance, so enjoy this balance of a fun beat and ear-catching lyrics.

Scorpio: Your Love (Deja Vu)-Glass Animals

No, not that Deja Vu. This funky number premiered under the working title “Palm Mute” at a concert in late 2019. The band asked fans not to post any recordings of the performance since they hadn’t mastered playing it yet. Surprisingly, their fanbase listened. Eventually, the song made its debut as a single on streaming platforms on February 19, 2020. A note from the writer: This is one of my favorite songs of all time, if not my favorite song of all time. I strongly suggest listening to it.

When interviewed about the song. Glass Animals frontman Dave Baley had this to say: “I think we’ve all found ourselves in [messed up] relationships that make us feel sad and helpless… Not necessarily something romantic — maybe it’s with a family member or a friend. A relationship that we know on some level is going to keep breaking our hearts. We let that person back into [our] lives over and over again, even though it always ends the same … Maybe you think you deserve that unhappiness. Or maybe you find some strange comfort in the chaos.”

While this song is a bit of a heavy one I wanted to include it. I’m not saying that all Scorpios are bound to be in toxic relationships. Unfortunately, that happens to everyone. It’s a very emotional song. You can hear the emotion not only in the lead singer’s voice, but also in the rumbling electronic drums and raw synth line. Like a lot of Glass Animals songs, the music is evocative. It doesn’t only scratch that itch on your brain, it claws at it rather aggressively. Just one listen to this song will put you into the throes of passion — something Scorpio may find themselves familiar with.

Scorpio, represented by a Scorpion, is one of the most misunderstood signs in the zodiac. Scorpions are venomous, waiting for the right time to strike, always planning several steps ahead. This leads people to assume that Scorpio planning may be nefarious; however, it comes from a place of liking one’s ducks in order and being an extremely hard worker.

While Scorpios do tend to hold their cards close to their chest, their secretive nature doesn’t necessarily mean they are hiding something Scorpios like to keep their personal thoughts, feelings and goals to themself at first. Drive, power and passion often lead to them being mistaken for fire signs, but they are actually water signs. This is an incredibly fervid song for a sign equally as such. I hope you enjoy this one, Scorpio, because I certainly do.

Sagittarius: Send Me on My Way – Rusted Roots

“Send Me on My Way” by Rusted Roots is a spirited anthem that perfectly encapsulates the adventurous spirit of Sagittarius.

After flying under the radar on its original release in 1992, “Send Me On My Way” saw a resurgence a decade after it dropped after being featured in a scene from the movie Ice Age and Enterprise Rent-A-Car commercials. It is known for its upbeat mood and sometimes difficult-to-understand lyrics.

From the moment the catchy percussion kicks in, listeners are transported on a journey of exploration and discovery.

Sagittarians are known for their love of freedom and their insatiable thirst for new experiences. Like the lyrics of the song, which speak of wandering and seeking out the wonders of the world, Sagittarius is always on the lookout for the next adventure.

The upbeat rhythm and infectious energy of “Send Me on My Way” resonate with Sagittarius’ optimistic outlook on life. With its uplifting melody and joyful lyrics, the song inspires Sagittarius to embrace spontaneity and seize every opportunity for growth and exploration.

Just as the song encourages listeners to embark on a journey of self-discovery, Sagittarius thrives on pushing boundaries and expanding their horizons. Whether it’s traveling to distant lands or delving into new ideas, Sagittarius is always eager to broaden their perspective and learn from the world around them.

“Send Me on My Way” serves as a reminder for Sagittarius to embrace their adventurous spirit and to follow their passions wherever they may lead. With its infectious energy and uplifting message, the song inspires Sagittarius to embrace the journey of life with open arms and a fearless heart.

Capricorn: Less I Know the Better – Tame Impala

“Less I Know the Better” by Tame Impala immerses listeners in a world of complex psychedelic melodies with moody synth swings and ear-catching bass hooks all brought together by introspective lyrics.

Released as part of their 2015 album “Currents,” this track quickly gained popularity for its unique sound and thought-provoking themes, but the track also comes with a zany and controversial music video to which the song owes a chunk of its popularity.

The video fuses psychedelia, allure, high school angst and — last but not least — a man in a gorilla costume. This track uses a synth vignette called “Gossip,” which further plays into the theme of teenage angst.  For Capricorn, the connection to “Less I Know the Better” lies in its exploration of complexity and inner conflict.

Capricorns are known for their ambitious nature and unwavering determination to achieve their goals. They often find themselves navigating the complexities of success, ambition, and personal relationships. In “Less I Know the Better,” Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker delves into themes of desire, longing and uncertainty. The song’s protagonist grapples with the realization that the object of their affection may not reciprocate their feelings. This internal struggle mirrors the challenges that Capricorns face as they strive for success while grappling with their own emotions and desires. The dreamy instrumentation and hypnotic rhythm of “Less I Know the Better” capture the essence of Capricorn’s disciplined yet introspective nature.

Like the song’s protagonist, Capricorns may find themselves torn between their practical ambitions and their emotional desires. Ultimately, “Less I Know the Better” serves as a poignant reminder for Capricorn to embrace the complexities of life and to navigate them with grace and determination. Just as Tame Impala invites listeners to explore the depths of their own emotions, Capricorn can use this introspective track as a soundtrack for their journey towards self-discovery and personal fulfillment. Capricorn, kick back and enjoy this track.

Aquarius: Loving Feeling- Mitski

The 9th track on Mitski’s fourth album “Puberty 2is a one-minute and thirty-two-second ode to the young adult experience: navigating life’s different emotions — alone more often than not — and fleeting places, fleeting people, and fleeting feelings.

The overall vibe of the song is pretty intense. You can definitely feel the heartache in her voice. The song rests very heavily on vocals backed up by a minimal but incredibly evocative drumline with snappy symbols as well as backing guitar to fill out the track.

Between this and Mitski’s voice, the song is sure to give you a chill. The song also does a good job of highlighting how Mitski is forlorn and confused. Mitski as an artist is bold and extremely expressive. Despite her pushing the world of music forward, however, the common plight of many celebrities takes effect and parts of her fanbase tend to ignore the fact that she is only human and use her music as an expression of self — something Aquarius holds close to home.

Aquarius, the eleventh sign of the zodiac and penultimate air sign, is a force to be reckoned with. Aquarius has an unparalleled appetite for innovation, progressiveness, rebellion and compassion. They are the champions of change, leading the way for a better world. However, it’s not all about revolution and funky fashion. Aquarians possess a sensitive and loving side that often goes unnoticed. It is essential to recognize and appreciate this aspect of their character, providing them with the support, reassurance and love they deserve. “Loving Feeling” is an emotional track for a sign who keeps their heart far, far away from their sleeve.

Pisces: Come Undone- Duran Duran

The sixth track of “The Wedding Albumby English rockstar group Duran Duran, “Come Undone” debuted in March 1993 as the second single after the international hit “Ordinary World”

This track was an odd one out in regards to the album, as it was initially recorded for a side-project by Nick Rhodes. However, it eventually found its way onto the album during the last recording sessions. The instrumentation is led by a sample of the legendary instrumental break “Ashley’s Roachclip” by The Soul Searchers,

On the first listen you may think they ran their instruments through water. Although that isn’t possible, there is heavy psychedelic distortion on the guitar bass and synth. This easy-on-the-ear instrumentation was created by  Warren Cuccurullo, the group’s guitarist at the time. The lyrics were written by the lead singer Simon Le Bon as a gift for his wife Yasmin, which warmed my heart when I learned about that and gave the song a deeper meaning.

Despite being one of the band’s most well-known songs, this slow jam was not included in the original album release. That just goes to show that last is certainly not the least — smething Pisces knows well. Pisces is the final constellation of the zodiac represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions, symbolizing the struggle between fantasy and reality that Pisces sometimes experiences.

Known to be the most empathetic, compassionate and psychic of all the signs, Pisces are known for brightening days and rooms alike with their bubbly and caring demeanor. Sometimes, those big hearts can be difficult to handle. However, such immense sensitivity can lead to Pisces becoming submerged in emotions; therefore, they need to stay grounded. Long story short, Pisces are the bleeding heart of the zodiac and a perfect match for this song.
