The Philadelphia Eagles have done it again, taking down the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX and Mount Saint Joseph Academy could not be more thrilled.
Celebrations occurred both in and outside of school and are continuing with the upcoming parade on February 14, 2025.

In an exciting showcase of talent and teamwork, Eagles fans were left on the edge of their seats as DeJean’s birthday interception and DeVonta Smith’s dramatic touchdown became the talk of the town.

“When DeVonta Smith caught the ball for a touchdown in the end zone, it was such a Hail Mary throw it was really exciting.” said Abby Leckrone ‘25.
As the Eagles clinched an exhilarating victory, celebrations erupted across the city, from donut parties in classrooms to joyous gatherings at Keswick, painting the town in high spirits.

“Me and my friends drove to Keswick after the game and there was a huge crowd, another version of Broad Street- just safer and closer to us. The vibes were really high, which is high hopes for a good parade.” Kerri Keown ‘26 said.

“I thought the national anthem performance was very underwhelming and it didn’t really quite give me the chills like Chris Stapleton’s did, for example. So, I think we could’ve had a bigger impact national anthem to really start off a great game for the Eagles” Molly Chipman ‘25 said.
The Eagles’ big win is still echoing in cheers, Mounties are eagerly preparing for a grand parade, planning to wake up as early as 5am, and soak in the vibrant energy of Philadelphia’s streets.
“I am going to wake up super early and go to the parade. Can’t wait to see the energy and excitement of all of the Philly fans.” Katie Tropiano ‘26 said.

Mount CulinArt staff member, Chris Juraci won a Super Bowl bet alongside his girlfriend on a popular betting app, he describes his winnings as, “140 dollars, the Eagles having a 21 point lead by the end of the first half.”
While the Eagles soared on the field, the halftime show and the national anthem performance sparked varied reactions, with fans buzzing about the creativity and critiquing its execution, adding another layer to the excitement.
“I thought the halftime show was really creative and well-organized and it was cool to see how they used the colors of red, white, and blue in a symbolic way. However, my favorite part was when SZA came out, whom I prefer over Kendrick” Rachel Delp ‘25 said.

However, there were some mixed reactions to Pulitzer Prize-winning lyricists, Kendrick Lamar’s, performance.
“The halftime show could have been better and I was a little confused. There was a lot going on,” Kelsea Pinkerton ‘26 said.
