Stephen Wiltshire, born 24th April, 1974, is an artist whom has autism from the United Kingdom that draws cityscapes entirely from memory. He began drawing at the age of 5, where at his school, his teachers had noticed his enjoyment in drawing.
His drawings depicted animals and cars, which evolved to him drawing London buildings. After entering his work into children’s art competitions he gained attention from the local press. In 1987, he appeared on the show “The Foolish Wise Ones” when he was about 13 years old. When going abroad to the US, he sketched the Empire State Building.
Wiltshire has been to many different countries throughout his life, such as Singapore, Istanbul, Mexico City, and Doha, Qatar. In 2019, he opened his own art gallery where it resides in West London, as well as an art studio in Chelsea Harbour, London.
Though he is nonverbal for the most part he is quoted as saying, “Do the best you can, and never stop.”
