Its name, coming from Latin roots, with futurus meaning “the future” and florens meaning “blooming”, signifies the flourishing of the future and all of the possibilities that it holds. The flowers and water give the scene a sense of life while still being particularly and thoughtfully arranged. This signifies to the viewer that the thought we put into caring for the world around us can play into the creation of a more beautiful future.

Exploring Creativity: Philadelphia Flower Show Blooms with Artistic Innovation

“Grass Stains” by Apiary Studio, Philadelphia PA, shows clothes hanging from lines over tall grass and flowers. This illustrates early memories of childhood with their creativity and peace and how they stay with us and we often return back to them throughout life.

“Color Carnival” by Waldor Orchids, Linwood NJ, depicts carts of a roller coaster along its track, filled with flowers. This piece shows the trends of Phalaenopsis Orchid breeding. Each cart is filled with a different type of orchid, varying in size, shape, and color, giving the viewer a visual of the scientific innovations of Orchid Breeding.

“Sower’s Symphony” by Tissarose Floral, Drexel Hill PA, shows a piano covered by flowers with moss growing on its bench and the sheet music. It highlights the similarities between music and nature, comparing the elements of a symphony to the details of an arrangement of flowers, though each part is small, the beauty of the final result depends on every component.

“The imagining of the Heavenly Gardens” by Simply Nia Design, Brooklyn NY, is a piece that displays a staircase leading up to somewhere, bordered by beautiful flowers on each of its sides. It illustrates the uncertainty of the future and the faith that guides each step we take, also being aware that, when times are difficult, we always have the beauty of the world surrounding us.

“A Matter of Time” by Bloom Bold Co., Philadelphia PA, shows us a clock being engulfed in flowers and other plants. This piece symbolizes our role in preserving nature and how we must do this on our own time because the future of wildlife and the ecosystem is in our hands.

“Welcoming Wildlife Home” by Jennifer Designs, Mullica Hill NJ, displays animals (a bird,squirrel, turtle, and butterfly) sitting at a table together, representing human interaction with nature and animals' role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
