Our Halloween “Familiar Favorites” are the classic ‘80s and ‘90s movies that our parents watched as kids and teens that still remain popular today with our generation.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

Summary: Hocus Pocus is set in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1993. The movie opens with a scene set in 1663 with execution of the three witches, the Sanderson sisters. Now in 1993 the movie focuses on the story of Max Dennison, his sister Dani, and Vanessa Shaw and their efforts to try to fix the mistake they made bringing back the Sandersons before it’s too late and they finish the plan they made 300 years ago to stay young forever.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)

Summary: Callie is a single mother who moves her and her two children to the small town of Summerville, Oklahoma, to the house that was left to Callie by her dad. This old messy house has secrets hidden all over, from the strange equipment and car in the barn that may be the reason for the town’s earthquakes and the first Stay-Puft Marshmallow ghost sighting since the ‘80s.
