With the new season of Outer Banks premiering, Jonas Pate captures the most shocking, thrilling season yet, leaving fans speechless.

Since the Pouges received their recognition and money for discovering El Dorado last season, they have been living their best life in Pouglandia. The group started their own successful business, and began to settle down to live a more quiet lifestyle.

However, the Pouges were pulled back into adventure when they were recruited by Wes Genrette to begin a search for a blue crown relic. In exchange, they would be offered a reward for their bravery and service.

“This was one of my favorite seasons of the show. I didn’t really like part one as much, but part two really redeemed the season as a whole. I really liked the action. I would rate it an 8/10,” Gabriella Balaratna ‘26 said.

On this journey the Pouges encounter many challenges regarding enemies, loss, possible new friends, and a lot of drama. This season unfolds new mysteries and questions needing to be answered.

The cast did a phenomenal job portraying each character’s distinct qualities and personalities for each scene. However, there is much controversy surrounding the idea of body doubles in use for specific moments throughout the show.

“I think it’s heartbreaking that they had to use body doubles for some of the scenes because they used to be really close,” Alice Baker ‘27 said.

In particular, Rudy Pankow and Madison Bailey play love interests in the show, and there have been conflicts that limit their ability to perform as professional actors. The use of body doubles occurs many times in the season causing fans to be upset.

“I thought that it was very sad and difficult to watch the end because each character  has been through so much,” Lizzie Organsky ‘26 said. “…I’m very excited for next season though because it will wrap up the show, and bring so many more crazy moments.”

Even though Outer Banks season four ends on a low note, it leaves so many more opportunities for the next season to bring the series to a close. Chase Stokes, Rudy Pankow, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Johnathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, and many more core actors gave their best performance by supplying the audience with the energy and excitement the show deserves.

On social media, this series has gone viral on all platforms with fans raving about the twists and turns the show contains. Since its release, Outer Banks season 4 comes in with a rate of 100% rotten tomatoes.
