“Hockey is my passion and a game that I love to play,” Ella shares. “One thing that keeps me motivated is my goal to play professionally and in the Olympics, making younger me proud.” The close-knit friendships with her teammates and coaches create a family-like atmosphere that adds to her love for the game.

Playing hockey at Plymouth Whitemarsh and with the Junior Flyers has been a distinctive experience for Ella. “It’s super unique to play hockey here because no one really plays it. Being at Mount pushed me to share my story and passion,” she explains. This environment has helped her break out of her shell and gain confidence.

Ella’s aspirations go beyond personal achievements. She aims to inspire and impact as many girls as possible, hoping to be a role model for those just beginning their hockey journey. “I want to coach when I am older and be a mentor,” she says, reflecting her desire to give back to the sport that has given her so much.

Hockey has taught Ella invaluable life lessons about perseverance and resilience. Playing Tier 1 hockey has also provided her with opportunities to travel across the country and participate in once-in-a-lifetime experiences. “Hockey is something I excel in, and the countless memories and future opportunities I have with the game make me love it so much,” Ella concludes.

With her sights set on professional play and the Olympics, Ella’s journey is one of dedication, inspiration, and a deep love for the sport.

Ella has also put together a video for her Women and Founders project about growth in women’s hockey.
