Ms. Mary Ravenfeld joins the Mount community as the Chief Development Officer.  As the Chief Development officer, she oversees the team in charge of annual alumnae planned giving, small fundraiser, and events.

Chief Development Officer is a revamped position, previously titled Vice President for Institutional Advancement, which oversaw admissions and marketing as well as fundraising and development.

On the change, Ms. Ravenfeld says, “I think it’s much more efficient to have just a chief development officer overseeing development.  That way you’re not pulled in too many directions.”

Ms. Ravenfeld has previously held the positions of Senior Director of Annual Campaigns and Major Giving at Immaculata University and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at West Chester University.  She brings with her an abundance of experience to Mount’s financial team, many of whom are also new to the department.  She works in tandem with Mrs. Owens, Ms. McCloy, Mrs. Moyer, and Mrs. Gregory, who all report to Sister Charlene.

“It’s nice having a large development team, larger than in other institutions. [We are] very fortunate that we are able to get a lot done with very talented people on the team…Sister Charlene has just been absolutely wonderful to work with and report to,” said Ms. Ravenfeld in reference to her team.

Ms. Ravenfeld and the finance department have faced many challenges, specifically in regard to event planning during COVID-19.  Due to capacity restrictions and social distancing measures, they are unable to host events to the same scale as years prior, but these setbacks will not deter them from setting ambitious goals for the department.  With the success of the Golf Classic on September 28, Ms. Ravenfeld is confident that her talented team can adapt and conquer any obstacles they will face in the upcoming years.
