AP Psychology at the Mount has been full of balloon eyeballs and cardboard brains, sleep tracking, and now the ultimate test: Parenting.
Mounties in AP Psychology were put to the test to take care of a “Sock Baby.” During a two week lesson of cognitive and social development, they carried around these socks with pride.
Most babies were made of rice or stuffing and finished off with some sharpie eyes.
“I took one sock and some old pillow stuffing and tied some rubber bands to shape it” Janie Mullen’26 said.

Students had fun naming their babies after their favorite TikTok star or book character,
“Being a mom is wonderful…my baby’s name is Rumble Honey Smith” Sarah Hock ‘26 said.

Mounties found creative ways to dress up their babies.
“She is wearing my American girl doll’s old clothes…she has a fur coat” Jenna Miller ‘26 said.

Even faculty and staff are obsessed with these cute and cuddly socks, ”I love the sock baby project, it gets everyone involved and they actually develop a much deeper understanding of all the different areas of developmental psych…its quite entertaining” AP Psychology teacher Bethann Leaming said.
