“I went into it thinking it was going to be somewhat of a breeze, but I was surprised by how much hard work was required. It was a lot of work and got stressful at times, but overall it was such a great experience,” Gracie said.

If you’re a Mount community member who uses Instagram, chances are you’re familiar with the account “msja2024”. The account documents the college decisions of Mount seniors.

But who is the owner of this account? Who’s in charge of informing the public and creating these graphics?

Maggie Rezza and Ellery Williams ‘24 are.

“I chose to do it because I’ve known where I was going to college since junior year, and I had no stress for picking a college unlike everyone else. I knew I would have more time to do it, so I was just trying to take stress off someone else’s back. Also, I just wanted to have fun and design it,” shared Rezza, who committed to Penn State in 2023.

“Yeah, someone had to do it,” added art scholar Ellery Williams, acknowledging the importance of the yearly tradition.

While the account is a joint effort, Maggie takes on the bulk of the workload, using her design skills to create visually appealing graphics for each college announcement.

“Maggie does almost all of it. I only do a few. Maggie makes most of them. But it’s not a lot of work because Maggie made a gorgeous template that’s easy to use,” Ellery explained.

Maggie further elaborated on the process, stating, “It’s bearable because they come in very spastically, so as long as I stay on top of it, it isn’t a lot of work. Also now that I have a lot of colleges done, it’s easy to just change the name and picture.”

The account has gained lots of attention across the Mount community, providing seniors with a platform to share the exciting news. You’ll often see their graphics reposted on a fellow student’s instagram story, congratulating their classmates. Maggie and Ellery are great contributors of The Mount’s culture.
