On September 23rd, 2025, Mounties Nora Benamar and Cecilia Esbensen interviewed Class of ‘93 alum, Christine Bischoff, who is a registered nurse at Lankenau Medical Center.
She has specialized in cardiothoracic and surgical ICUs. After attaining her master’s degree in nursing education from Drexel University in 2007, she began teaching clinical rotations. Today, she continues to educate the future generations of nurses through clinicals and nursing labs.

Christine’s interest in the medical field originated from her surroundings as a child: her aunt was an OBGYN nurse and her uncle was an ER nurse. Additionally, she fought childhood cancer and grew up in the healthcare system.
“I think maybe it was in my head somewhere… I have been around hospitals, and getting labs, and all that kind of stuff as a kid, for repeated checkups for years and years,” Bischoff said.
During her time at the Mount, she took Anatomy and Physiology which confirmed her interest in medicine and led her to decide on nursing in college at Bloomsburg University.
Christine juggles the fast-paced environment at the hospital, along with being a mom at home. With nursing, teaching, and taking care of her four sons, she’s learned important skills within each environment.
“So I guess I learned to be a nurse first, then I learned to be an ICU nurse, and then I learned to be a mom,” Bischoff said.
Christine’s advice helped Mounties visualize possible medical careers.
“I thought it was very interesting,” Caroline Squillaro ‘27 said. “coming from a person who wants to be a nurse. It gave me a good head start on what I could be in the future and I thought the advice was positive.”
