During “Mission Mondays,” the liturgy team transforms the auditorium into a place of reflection and prayer, creating a calm space during advisory. The prayer services offer students a chance to pause, reflect, and start their morning inspired.

On Nov. 1, a busy Monday morning, students paused to reflect and escape the demands of the school day. As students sat quietly, they were encouraged to consider the meaning behind All Saints’ Day. “Prayer services were a really important part of the spiritual life of our community, and one of the things that had grown was the dedication of liturgy team members who led them.” “I want students to grow in their appreciation of this form of prayer and the theme of each day,” Mr. Bates said.

Students were encouraged to reflect on how the saints’ examples related to their own lives. Charli chose to participate because she wanted to share her Confirmation saint and inspire others, just as she had been inspired. “I hoped students could take inspiration from the saints and feel more connected to their stories through the prayer service,” Charli Schoen ‘27 said.

“As a senior in the first semester with everything regarding college applications and classes, I found myself overwhelmed and stressed. Starting off the week with a mindful way to pray and connect with God was really important,” she said. “Reflecting on the same topic, like All Saint’s Day, was a really special way to come together for the same cause and honor those who had passed before us.”

Sharing a smile, they began their day grounded and connected to their faith. “If I could describe the prayer service in one word, it would have been reflective; the way we were all brought together and hearing the saints’ names allowed me to feel more connected to the Mount community.” Alice Baker ‘27 said.
